In just over one year, mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters from the nation’s top MMA teams have come to the Washington, D.C. Capital Region to battle top local competitors at Ultimate Warrior Challenge (UWC) shows. And during this time period, the capital area fighters have punished the out-of-towners. The organization will promote that fact by showcasing the region’s best fighters at the aptly titled UWC – CAPITAL PUNISHMENT, returning to the George Mason University Patriot Center on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

Leading the local charge will be dynamic UWC World Bantamweight Champion Mike “The Hulk” Easton (Washington, DC), who captured the title at UWC – Man “O” War last month. The D.C. native will defend his belt against top out-of-town prospect, Josh “Taz” Ferguson Team Cruz (Louisville, KY), in the evening’s Main Event. Other rising regional stars on the card will be Kris “Savage” McCray (Woodbridge, VA) from Gold Medal Grappling vs. Ronnie Wuest Team ROC (Baltimore, MD) and Easton’s Lloyd Irvin Martial Arts teammates Ron “The Choir Boy” Stallings (Baltimore, MD), Jose “The Pistol” Villarisco (Arlington, VA) vs. Mikey "The Burque Bulldog" Lovato (Albuquerque, NM), and Frank “The Crank” Camacho (Temple Hills, MD / Saipan-Guam USA) vs. Binky “The Baltimore Submission Machine” Jones Ground Control (Baltimore, MD), and 4X NCAA All American Wrestler (Penn State) Phil “Mr Wonderful” Davis.

In addition to these world class fighters the UWC will continue their commitment to showcase some of the next great up and coming MMA Champions of tomorrow with more amazing super fights.

Jamal “The Suit” Patterson (Renzo Gracie Black - New York, NY) who defeated Antwain “The Juggernaut” Britt in :43 seconds at the Feb 21st UWC Man “O” War show vs. Ryan “Big Deal” Jimmo (Halifax, Canada)

Marcus “The Tornado” Foran Team Greg Jackson (Albuquerque, NM) vs. Richie “The Dirty Samurai” Hightower Genesis MMA (Phoenix, AZ) in a much anticipated rematch.

UWC shows have become a staple of the Washington, D.C. sports culture, attracting thousands of fans, along with mainstream celebrities like Alex Ovechkin from the Washington Capitals, Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley, and ESPN’s Tony Reali, among many others.
